In Ontario on 29 April 2016, the jury’s recommendations following an inquest into the death of a young Ontario girl at the hands of her guardians included a recommendation that the provincial government and designated child welfare authorities conduct CRIA to review legislation, policies, regulations, procedures and other proposals for their impacts on children’s rights.
